In 2015, the 501(c)(3) non-profit Uncommon Kids (UK) was started to walk alongside children in our city and provide resources to them throughout the school year. Every second Saturday of the month, UK hosts a Serve Day at Wilkinson Elementary School. 81% of the students that attend Wilkinson have free or reduced lunch. This school hits close to home for us as the principal, Mrs. Nations, is a member of The Shore. These Serve Days not only provide time to play and build relationships, they also provide for their basic needs by equipping them with school supplies, food, and clothing. Through UK we provide Thanksgiving meals for families, and take the parents of these children shopping for Christmas. Over 1,200 students have come through these programs this year alone!

Social media is such a big part of people’s lives in 2018. We know the gospel needs to be shared where people are. This year alone we were able to bring church to over 700k people through multiple platforms. You can watch our sermons on our YouTube page, keep up with what God is doing at The Shore via Instagram, and watch us live every Sunday at 9 and 11am on Facebook!

The Giving Closet Project breaks down barriers of poverty affecting school children by providing clothing and basic essentials to make the learning environment more productive, while developing the whole child and empowering future leaders.

Each month we partner with All Faiths Food Bank right here in Sarasota. Through our partnership, 2.2 million meals are delivered to over 35,000 children over summer break in Sarasota County. All Faiths Food Bank has become the community’s strongest line of defense against child hunger during the summer months.
